Detrot Locker - Manual locking differential

posi - Posi traction (limited slip) allows rear tires to travel at different speeds for cornering but should lock up when one tire spins

spool - A spool is a solid connection between both axles and the ring gear. Therefore both tires will spin equal amount even while cornering (negating axle torsion)

Spline is groves cut parallel to a shaft that allow for movement parallel to the shaft and restict rotation. This allows easy removal of the axles for repair or gear changes. Splines are also used as a sliding conection, as when suspension travels and the drive shaft moves on the transmission output shaft or "spline"

A girdle is a reinforced differential cover that adds strength to the rearend.
