Thanks Guys!

Shipping was $322.59! Was expecting 150-$200.

When I get everything in, It's gonna be like getting a new car. Doing an A4-M6 conversion at the same time too. Still need to figure out what Clutch and Drive Shaft to get. Should be my last two pieces to buy to get her back on the road.

Crate said 259 lbs on it. The driver and myself lifted it off the truck fairly easy though, didn't seem that heavy but who know's.

Damn... That is 64 lbs heavier than my 8.8 rear end. I was expecting 210 lbs max for the 12 bolt.

That weight included the crate itself and the hardware/my spare parts that came with it. I'd bet the 12 Bolt is between 210-225# neighborhood. Yes an 8.8 is lighter none the less. I like that this Strange rear came with the Torque arm mount molded into the case and not welded on. It also came with brake line brackets provisions for the ASR wiring etc. and fully assembled ready to bolt in, looks OEM.

So it weighs around the same as the 8.8. I dont know why people think the 12 bolt is heavier.

Yeah, good ole UPS! Freight forwarder's much charge a premium I guess, good thing I got a deal on the Rear end! Just other people should be aware of shipping costs when they do something like this. I really didn't like not knowing what it was till the truck showed up...

Yeah that does suck, how much did the rear end wind up costing you total?

I see the scam continues...I bought a Strange going on 3 yrs ago, I was assured by the reseller (a sponsor here) of a low shipping charge, and I paid in the the low 300's as well.

It's not Strange's fault - but the reseller s/b informing people how freight shipping & deliver work and not be low-balling the charges.

BTW, enjoy the axle. I took the time to degrease, rough up, and paint it while on the pallet. Painted the center section with one of the bare metal colored paints, and the tubes and backing plates red.
