Default Sticky Idea (Moderators)

I'm in the lines of an M6 conversion using a 12 bolt rear. I ahve realized people with M6's and/or doing conversions want this info.

What I would like to know or see is a comparison of Stock 3.42, 3.73, and 4.10 rear end gear ratios.

Maybe somebody could make a 3 column post or an attachement comparing the following:

Stock Rev Limiter

Streetability:
Take off-
Cruising-
Smootheness-
Noise-
MPG- Cty/Hwy

Min/Top Speed:
1st
2nd
3rd
4th
5th
6th

Down shifting (Race from Roll)
(i.e.75+6th)Speed+Gear~downshift to what gear(i.e.6th-3/4?)
I say 55-75/80mph and use of all 6 gears would be best

Track:
1/4 ET-
MPH-
60'-
1/8th-
60mph-
100mph-

Opinions-what applications for power adders for what gear (i.e. N20, Stroker, Blower, H/C)

(one ? for me also I will be using this as my Daily driver, will see track and road course time but mainly street...minimal Rain, no snow hopefully no ice...and will eventuallly recieve 455 stroker after all boltons and most if not all suspensions except springs schocks UCA's A-Arms and K membe...Should i get Posi 12 bolt or Spool-I like comfort, many sharp turns, and love to play in empty parking lots-if Posi...Auburn or Eaton?..does Strange have one still? if spool how much diff is it?)

thanks Mods if you get this info i kno its alot but i can almost GARUANTEE full proof results if people use the stickies

if any1 else is behind me please get some persuasion going

kinda hard to do that when everyone has diferent rev limiters etc...just link a calculator...

that way you can change tire size etc...

however the drivablilty stuff would be good to have

Yeah there is too many variables.

http://www.f-body.org/gears/ Will give you a pretty good idea of whats speeds you will run with what ratio gears.

4.10's + 6speed

Rev limiter: 6600

Streetability: i hope you like skippin gears, i chill at 30mph in 6th. but its hard for anyone to touch you from a roll anywere under 60mph.

Take off: hope for traction, if it sticks good look in your rearview mirror and see your rear-end in peices.

Cruising: get them installed correctly or they will make funky noises.

Smootheness: N\A

Noise: if it isnt doing it now, it will.

MPG- 16/22

personaly thoughts\recommendations: if you wanna make your right arm real strong get nitrous cause you'll be rowing threw those gears way to fast. good setup for a streetcar that doesent see much track use(10bolt). expect more wear-and-tear on the car overall.
