Default Gas mileage with 2.73s vs 3.73

For those who have gone from 2.73s to 3.73s, preferably with a stall, how was your gas mileage effected? I'm guessing I'd pickup 2.5mpg going from 3.73s to 2.73s. Is this consistent with your experience?

Thanks!

Terry

I dont think anyone has gone down from a 3.73 to a 2.73. I went from 3.42s to 3.89 and didnt see hardly any IF ANY decrease in gas mileage

If you drive in the city you'd probably lose mileage going from 3.73 to 2.73

I went from stock rearend with 2.73 to a 9" with 3.70 and added long tubes at the same time last winter. So its not the apples to apples compasison you asked for. I lost at least 4 MPG some of it was do to the 9" though

I did not lose any mpg when I switched to my 9" with 3.89 gears, maybe it was due to the fact of the spool. If I did lose any were talking about 1/4 gallon per tank.
