Default you guy think that 30 spline strange axles are enough for this car?

i wana make sure that i wont snap an axle with this car
camed car about 415 hp and a posible 150 dry shot

i am going to buy a 12 bolt and i know that most of the reson why they brake is the crap clutch style posies that they make for them

i want something stronger but dont want a locker that is going to make all that noice so im looking into the powertrax locker
it is a true locker but does not make the noice of a traditional locker but the problem is they only make up to 30 spline for 12 bolts

will the 30 spline be enough?

thanks alot

joe

trac-tech (detroit locker manufacturer) makes a 33 spline diff for the 12-bolt (gear driven).

http://www.tractech.com/docs/TT-List-LTPM1004.pdf

If you go with the 30 spline moroso makes a clutch types posi that LOOKS to be a little more beeffier than the Eaton

i dont want to use 30 spline if i dont have to

the trac-tech looks good but its a posi like the ones that come stock in are 10 bolts but probably much stronger

the reason i like the powertrax is that it is a true locker but its quite

If you race a lot I would go with 33's.

You should be fine but I would get the 33s just for extra insurance. If your worried about weight, go with 35 gundrilled. They are a little heavier then 30 splines.

That's great advice man, except for the fact that he's asking about a posi or locker diff and you can't get anything 'cept a spool for 35 spline axles.

Correction....you can get a locker for a 35 spline axle. Not a posi though.

I didn't think they had 35 spline axles for the 12 bolt, thought that was 9" only?
