Default LT1 and LS1 backing plates the same?

I used the backing plates off my stock 10 bolt to install my piece of **** moser with... I have a 3.42 rear out of my old 96 T/A that I want to install in my car for a week or two, does anyone know if the backing plates on the LT1 rear will work with my LS1 rear brakes?

Nope. Different brakes. You'd have to run the LT1 calipers/rotors also.

I just put my stock rear, DS, torque arm back in the car this week while I'm deciding what to do with my 12 bolt. Fortunately I bought an extra set of LS1 backing plates a couple months ago.

See if you can get some from a bone yard. Most have the complete rear brakes, backing plates and all for $150-$200.

What if I pull the backing plates off the LT1 rear end and install them onto my LS1 rear that doesn't have any plates on it?

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, that's not going to help you. The LT1/LS1 axle housings are the same AFAIK. Only difference is the brakes. See if you can scrounge up some LS1 backing plates.
