only one tire spinning on burnout ?
I think its about to go.
I noticed on saturday when i was done racing that my right tire was the only one spinning on my burnouts because the left fender was clean but the right was covered in rubber.
Is my rear gone? It had been making some bearing noise for awhile. maybe just needs some fluid?
I wonder if it was hurting my times and 60ft' also. it would pull to the right on the launch. i was wondering why lol

Mike, If you have a Torsen posi, sometimes only 1 wheel will spin on a burnout. It's very common. Do you go thru the waterbox? Are there "ruts" in the burnout box at the track you were running? If 1 whl was wet and one dry (maybe), only 1 would spin. Next time you go--or on the street, do a couple of burnouts where it is level, even road. See if 2 spin then. If it does it ONLY occasionally, it is common. If it does it (1 whl spin) constantly, your limited-slip carrier should be replaced. Hope this helps. That guy w/12 posts is a Moron. WJ

everything is stock in the back. i dont think its a torsen but i could be wrong. i have over 200 races on the rear and ive always had rubber on both sides. i always go thru the waterbox and i got 17 runs that day so i dont think it had anything with a rut or one being dry or wet. the rear has been making bearing noises for awhile now :-)
maybe i can get away with just replacing the posi? maybe a eaton?
thanks

If your car is a '98--either Firebird or Camaro, it's a Auburn. If your car is '99-'02, it's got a Torsen. UNLESS, it's got the SLP rear axle Auburn Differential option. If it did, I think it would've blown long ago. With that many passes, I'd say you're ready for a complete rear axle re-build: no-slip carrier, gearset, all bearings, and new axles. Or, just try to buy a low-mile take-out rear. Or better yet, if you can, step up and buy a Strange 12 bolt. That's my opinion only. Best wishes. WJ

Myself, I would install a new T2R Torsen 7&5/8" carrier. WJ BTW, how many miles are on that car and rear axle, of yours?
