Stock DS - aluminum or steel?

Stock DS - aluminum or steel? I have a 2000 A4 Z28 that I bought used. It has an aluminum driveshaft. A friend of mine bought a '98 A4 Z28 that has a steel DS. Is mine stock, or did somebody swap it? I did a search, and got no conclusive answer.

Hmmmm...interesting. My car originally was a 2.73 car, but somebody swapped in 3.23s... Or at least I think so...the speedo was off when I got it, so I got a Diablo Predator from the dealer for free... 
Also, it has a T/A cover. So either the rear/DS were swapped or the car has the wrong computer?
