Once again Strange v.s. Moser????????
Once again Strange v.s. Moser????????
is it worth the difference???
Strange $250 more than moser
Strange takes 6 weeks for a rear end
Moser 1 week
I've heard that a lot of people just dont like the gears that moser makes, can you buy other gears to replace the moser ones???
Thanks

Keeping in mind that I don't have either, I would still get the Strange out of the two of them only because of the torque arm bolt design. The Strange uses through bolts (stock style), while the Moser uses 4 shorter bolts that go into threaded holes, and damn near require safety wiring to keep them from backing out.

From what I've read, the Strange is as close to a stock swap/install as you can get. I've never heard of a Strange customer complaining about the way the gears came set up from the factory either.

If i had to do it over again, I would go with strange...if the strange comes with the brake calliper plates and axels already pressed in...do your self a favor and just get that.

Never had a problem with 4 gear sets and 2 different 9" rears from Moser. Currently have a problem with a friends Strange 12 bolt eating gearsets. Not sure what that's about though. My vote is for Moser.

If you do go with Moser, be sure to get it in pieces and bring it to a reputable shop for assembly. Moser doesn't know their *** from their elbows when setting up a rear. I've seen and heard the outcome first-hand now on 2 different occasions, and 2 second-hand occasions. All were diagnosed as being setup improperly. My rear was sold and in went the factory 10-bolt until I can fit an aluminum 9" Strange into the budget...

I have seen and physically touched (4) moser rear ends that came out of f-body's that were built so bad that you can actually see the rear was not straight! The cars they came out of were very very mildly modded. None were over 370 hp at the wheels. All (4) rear chewed through gear sets. The shop finally figured out what was causing the problems, the rears were assembled crooked.
my vote - strange all the way
