Gear Fluid?
Got a 2000 SS with the Auburn diff. and aluminum cover from the factory. Fixing to change gear fluid and was wondering what brand you guys think I should use. Also heard not to use synthetic in the factory 10-bolt is this true? Just trying to find out 4 things (1) Synthetic or non synthetic? (2) What brand and weight? (3) How much GM additive? (4) How much do I need to put in it?

Non synthetic, I usually use Valvoline 80/90 but I am not that picky. 2 bottles of additive gm pn- 1052358. Add the additive first, then fill it up until it is up to the fill plug, usually just under 2 quarts.

Is the lucas gear oil your using non-synthetic? Also what is the weight? Did you use 1 bottle of gm additive or 2? Is lucas suppose to be better for the Auburns.
