Default Those who ditched ASR & ABS

Any regrets? I ended up having friends replace my stock 10bolt POS as it grenaded a spider gear or more.... Replacement was with another stock 10bolt sans the ASR & ABS. I am still deployed and havent driven the car since all this, but wanted to see from those who ditched if there was any regrets. I am considering pulling the remnants of the ASR, and ABS and dropping the weight penalty if there is not to many worries.
Car is driven near daily and will continue to be very streetable, but raced like it was stolen.

Thanks

Charlie

I can say that the ASR has helped keep me out of a lil trouble, from either the flash flooding in Hawaii during Tsunami season, or from all the damn cops sitting at those beautiful stop lights you think no ones looking but just then, your glad the ASR was on and limited the amount of smoke and noise as you left on the green!

I don't regret losing ASR/ABS never drove with it on anyways. Your ASR inop. & ASR dash lights are always on however, but who cares.

Doesn't the pedal feel weird when you're braking hard without ABS? I know my brakes felt really crappy when I forgot to put on that reluctor ring on the carrier.

I got a 9" with no ABS and no traction control. one of the best things Ive done. ABS is worthless as long as you drive smart. TCS was point less and more of an aggrivation!

I haven’t noticed any difference in the cars breaking.

i have a 3rd gen and installed an LS1 dash. the "abs inop" light will go off if you hook it to the fuel gauge. being the ls1 has a different sender, if you could put a resistor inline with the ABS INOP wire with about 30-50ohms, it should keep the light off.
try hooking it to the gas gauge and see what happens. the light only comes on when i need gas, so its kinda cool.
