Default 70 rear in 69?

I am buying a 12 bolt for my 69 camaro. The guy says its for 67-69 camaros. The casting says its a 70 rear. This guy is suppose to be an expert but I am not sure if I should go for it. Do 70 rears work in a 69s??

No the 70 is wider overall unless it came out of a Nova. I believe the Nova rear up to 72 is a direct fit in first gen camaro/firebirds. Do some research I was sourcing a rear for my 68 bird 25 years ago so my memory could well be wrong.

A 70 Nova is still a fbody and I believe will work. Just measure your current rearend and see if the overall width is the same. If it is and the rear looks the same (leaf spring perches) you shouldn't have any trouble using it. How much is he asking for it, these rears are getting difficult to find in the bone yards.

The axle ended up working just fine. I payed $1500 bucks for it which is a lot. But it was bead blasted, repainted, completely rebuilt with all new internals and it even had a completely new rear brake set up with lines attached already. I think it was worth it because I blew the 10 Bolt and i really needed a replacement quick. I didn't have to spend any money on instalation or on a brake job. It just bolted right in with a couple of jacks and jack stands. I was going to spend money on new rear drums anyway so this was perfect. And the rear has 3.55s instead of my old 2.73s so that's pretty awesome. It looks really good.
