Default Gears for high HP M6

What gears should I go with when I order my Strange 12bolt? I think it is between 3.73 and 4.10.

Car will make about 480-500RWHP on motor (fully built 408) and possible 200 shot coming soon...

I wanted to go 4.10, but I think with this much power I might benefit from the 3.73, the 4.10 may just spin the **** out of the tires.

I plan to run Bogart D10's with ET Street Radials at the track and occassional fun on street...

3.73 or 4.10? Why?

Hey,
I've got almost 500 and I got 4.11's and I only run 315/35/17 nittos and hate them. If I ran a 27-28 inch slick it would be great at the track....But it still sucks with street tires. I'm thinking on going with 3.70's myself.....still not sure

4.10's are better M6's. I dont even know they are there, I just hear a slight whine.

when you are throwing down 500rwhp, your opinion might change a bit

the fastest 6 speed cars are running HUGE gears to achieve their track numbers, smokin01ta is running 4.56's and does 10.4's cam only (cam only record). driving a car with gears that big on the street would not be a whole lot of fun i can imagine. if you drive on the street alot, and do some roll racing, the 3.73's will be a better "highway run" gear for you. exactly how much do you plan on running it on the street?

Thats exactly what Im getting at. I think the 3.73 would be perfect, esp with the high HP nitrous hit so I dont pulverize the tires.

This is mostly street car daily driver with at most 1 trip a month to the track

I am pretty set on 3.73 but I am still open to opinions...

3.90s are an option in a 12 bolt. They would be good NA gears. Gives you a gearing similar to a Z06. Depending upon your estimate of trap speed on the spray, 3.73s may be better for that.

I went with the 3.90 Moser Loaded 12bolt setup from Speed Inc. I know I have heard some bad about Moser, but Speed Inc claims 9/10 12bolts they sell are Mosers and they havent had complaints. Plus it is a lot cheaper than the Strange. I wanted the Strange, but price and delivery time were too tempting with the Moser.
