Default 2001 Trans Am driveshaft shorten question

Hello,
I am going to be swapping an LS1 that came out of a 2001 Trans Am into another vehicle. I can either order a custom fabricated driveshaft from the person who makes the kits or I can have the stock driveshaft shortened if it meets certain criteria.

Can anyone here on tell me if the stock 2001 TA driveshaft has any rubber sleeves, if it has any cross sectional changes, or if it is constant diameter all the way down? If it is constant diameter and has no rubber sleeves, apparently I can have it shortened. The engine hasn't arrived yet, so I'm not sure what the driveshaft looks like. I do know that it will cost over $200 to order the prefab one.

Thanks,
~Bob

I shortened the stock steel DS I have out of a 2000 Z28 which should be the same as the one you're talking about. It cost 124.XX with a 1350 U-joint in the rear.
