01 F-body rearend question
I have an 01 WS6 that I just got done adding a set of AFR heads, cam, FAST intake and T/B, and some other stuff too. Now my focus is on the rearend and getting it to hook up. I had planned on getting a Moser 12 bolt w/ posi rear, 4 channel ABS and new exciter rings, and a performance rearend cover. That is gonna run me about $2385. If I just order new axels from Moser and a c-clip eliminator kit how would the stock rearend hold up if I put around 500 horses to the rear? I think I should be around 550 to 600 after I add the procharger w/ intercooler next year.

General train of thought around here, don't spend money on the stock rear if you drive spiritedly, have sticky tires, or go to teh track. If you're planning a procharger install on top of what you have already, my vote goes for the 12 bolt.

I just bought a billingsley 9' and I have to say I am glad I didnt waste that much money on a 10 bolt. All I bought was a t/a cover for it. Dont upgrade it at all. Sell it for a cheap price and put that towards a 12 bolt. I wanted a 12 bolt but I said the hell with it and went all out on the 9 inch. Right now I am working on how to figure out how to setup my 3 channel for it.

Just spend the money I learned the hard way. I just broke my 6th set of gears and 2nd carrier (3 Weeks old) 2nd tranny got busted when the rearend broke. My stock tranny was also 3 weeks old. Just ordered a 12 bolt Should've done it months ago.
