Blew the 10-bolt posi....with 60,000 miles of daily driving
Change fluid every 15,000 miles or so. Of course I get on it and do the occasional burnout...and I've been to the dragstrip a 1/2 dozen times or so....probably 20 runs or less...always on street tires. What a piece of junk.
I guess maybe these GS-D3s have "slick" like traction and it was just too much.
P.S. I have bolt-ons...about 340 rwhp.
Luckily I have a spare in the garage here that I can swap out this weekend. 12-bolt funds are still too low.

These rear end are hit or miss. My 10 bolt had 65K miles, fluid changed only once, 130 plus track runs (most in the 12's, some 11's) on drag radials and ET Streets without 1 problem. Going bigger now so I put in a 12 bolt.

why the **** would you change rear end fluid every 15000 miles???????? Once a year is pleanty
My friend has a stock 4 channell rear, 4.10 gears, and Aluminum driveshaft for sale...
The reason it is dead is because of wheelhop, not power or traction...I ran many 10 second runs on a 10 bolt, stock gear, only mods were preload bearing cap and stud kit, using synthetic fluid....full weight car, 1.59 short times...still kickin!
