Default How many runs till the rear goes BOOM?

I'll have my car back sometime this week from ls1speed. i have a 99' TA ram air hood, patriot stage II heads, mediem lope (519.224 i think) nitrious cam, hooker long tube headers, cut outs, 150 wet shot of nitrious, stall at 3200rpm, trans go shift kit. trans cooler, 18" rims 9.5 fronts 10.5 rears with nitto 555r's on back. pushin close to or over 575 HP at the back wheels.

my question is how many runs at full force you think i'll get before blowing my stock rear end. automatic A4 (i think) 3.23 ring, pinion.

or anything else that you'll think will blow first? exp, transmission, driveshaft

I'm trying to decide if there are any other parts i should get upgraded before running it or, if there's a decent amount of time before breakage, run it for a while and replace them later...

what yea think?

That's a whole lot of power for that stock rearend to hold. I wouldn't think you would have long at all. The stock rearend is the biggest weakness in that car. Have you launched it with that much power before? I almost wouldn't think it would hold up to that kind of abuse at all unless you are just babying it out of the hole.

You dont have enough tire to really be worrying about the rear. If it breaks it'll be on the 1-2 shift, not the launch

I believe it will break in between shifts 1-2. Unless you put some sticky tires on it.

Do you concider nitto 555r's sticky tires?

Not by a long shot. And definetly not 17s or 18s.

He means with larger rims like your 18s it will be harder to hook, tires not as sticky because less rubber. Better for your rear, worse for traction.

17s and 18s dont have enough sidewall for you to even begin to worry.

if I am reading this correctly, your tranny is stock. you'll blow it long before the rear end. Without torque management, the tranny will toast on the street. It's just a matter of time even with the cooler.

22.5 runs. Give or take 3 runs. Make sure to start trailering it to the track after run 19.

oh wait a minute, i did post those parts. by torque management do you mean a torque converter? because the stall is a torque converter. or do you mean simply being easy on the pedal at take off?

Torque management is a PCM controlled safety net for driveline torque/line pressure in automatics

485rwhp....blew the rear in 6 runs...was just accelerating off the line also,no 2k,3k,4k clutchs dumps.***** footing it and it still went.
the spectators heard a pop..and the car doesnt move the driveshaft just spins.get to open it up in a couple of days to look at it.

so horrible that they make these rear ends so weak.

What size rims and tires were you using when this broke? nittos? bfg's? 485 with nitrious? or all engine?
