Torsen question...
When the 7.5 factory ('01-'02) limited slip starts to work off-and-on, is there any parts that can be replaced to make them work properly again? Any re-build parts available? Are the Eaton limited-slip units (7.5) noticeably better? Thanks. WJ

Change the fluid to a synthetic, that should take care of it.
There are no "designed" wear parts in the Torsen, and the spiral gears only turn when going around corners, so there is little chance they have worn significantly.
The gears need the right lubricant to deliver the right friction ratio to the gears.

How many miles, what kind of fluid ?
All the ones I have see show imperceptible wear, even after 50-70,000 miles

Since we're on a torsen question, are the slits on the torsen suppose to be there or did it get put on there from hard driving? The first pic is the new torsen. The second one is a stock 10 bolt w/ 3.42 gears

The Auburn Gear Pro Series Differential that I just bought and used for 8 drag passes over the past two weeks is a nice piece. 12.27 @ 110 on a 95 carbed LT1 (iron headed caddy motor/ TH350 conversion in a 1986 coupe) in the Hattiesburg heat and humidity last night (4-29-05). It helped cut 1.70 60' times.
