Default Tru Trac in a 12 bolt?

Has anyone tried this set up? I see they now have it for the 33 spline axles as well. From what I gather the Tru Trac is durable and is good for the Auto cross/ Road Race crowd and not to bad for the occasional 1/4 mile pass.

I'm putting a 415ci LS2 in my car, I currently have the an Eaton posi in my Moser 12 bolt but I do Autocross and 1/4 mile duty. So any input would be greatly appreciated.

It may seem like I'm advertising for Detroit locker(but they do have a solution), they have a 12 bolt locker comming out and have a helical gear posi. Check it out.

Is that not the Tru Trac? I think it is, but could be wrong. That is why I wanted to hear any feed back.

I've got it and I'm happy with it. Z-ya, are you sure they're still going to produce a 4 series carrier? I was under the impression that they weren't?

My car has an Eaton Posi, I'm very happy with how it held. I just discovered O have a gear swap problem with this carrier unit. I have a 4 series carrier in my Moser with a 3.73 gear, on my current set up I need to step down to a 3.42 gear. The problem is the 3.73 gear is the lowest you can go with this carrier

Anyone want to trade a 4 series for a 3 series Eaton posi?

I just finished installing the Moser 12 bolt in my car, and I've 50 miles on the True Trac. So far, it seems pretty smooth around corners. I'll let you know more when I can really get on it.

I'm thinking the Tru track is the thing you put in open differentials. That is not what I talked to Detroit Locker about, but a real locker for the 12 bolt that will use a series 3 carrier only.

True Trac is Trac Tech's new Torsen Style Differential, The open differential replacement parts are called EZ Lockers.

Okay, the tru track is the helical gear posi. Just saw an ad for it. The Detroit Locker for the 12 bolt was only planned for a 3 series and they told me no plans for a 4 series carrier, but you can buy a "thicker" 4 series gear that will work with a 3 series carrier. Solution, thick gear and the diff of your choice.

I was thinking about going to this Tru Trac. Its suppost to be pretty strong from what I've heard. I wish there was someone who has had it and tried it in a true test i.e. 5500-6000 rpm launches on ET Streets or ET Drags. If it can hold up to that then I'd get it.

Well, I have one in my Cutlass. 8.5 axle with 3.73 gears. 5k RPM clutch dumps at the strip with M/T drag radials dead hooking. I could not like the True-Trac more. The car is my daily driver, 15k miles over the past year since the axle install, zero problems. I wish all aftermarket parts worked this well.
