so my rearend is making noise

so my rearend is making noise it kind of howles, like a loud humm. I know the carrier needs to be shimmed to the right(pasanger side) a little will that cure most of the noise? and how do i go about getting the shims to ajust it

Ya need a set up tool If ya want to get it perfect.What kind of gears ya got some of the harder gears are going to whine no matter what! GM gears are the queitest motives are pretty quiet! But if it aint to loud you should be alright driving it around!Some times ya can luck up and get a good set!good luck!
