Default Do I need a new driveshaft with a Moser 12 bolt?

Just wondering if the stock driveshaft will work, or if I need a different one to accomodate it

I believe the stock one will work. However if you go with the 1350 (?) yoke on it, you'll have to get a different U-joint for the rear of it. I could be wrong though.

There is Zero way to know untill you bolt the rear up, load the suspention and test the slip traval of the drivershaft. Less then 1/2" and your in trouble.

I've installed several 12 bolts. Never changed the drive shaft, but did swap out the u-joint to match the yoke.

If you have the 1350 yoke, you will have to change the u-joint for the driveshaft. However, that aside your stock driveshaft should work just fine.

1350 Conversion U-Joint (Napa Part # 447x ) pressed onto driveshaft.
- Axle Bearings Pressed on (Any local auto shop can do this usually): They do not come pressed on because you need to swap the brake backing plates from the stock unit to the new unit and then press the bearings on (This swap is a few minute swap).
- Generic 3" muffler clamps to relocate sway bar.

thats what I used and had no problems.

if the stock aluminum driveshaft fits, Im just wondering if itll hold up to an over 400 rwhp car with a pretty decent launch on dr's (no slicks, but a pretty hard hitting converter). Anyone give me an answer I can be safe with?

It should hold... but it isn't a sure thing. I've seen people post up with broken/twisted driveshafts with power levels around what you got.

That's why I made the switch to a Denny's Nitrous Ready Driveshaft... better safe than sorry. I'm only running about 390 rwhp or so, but I'm also hitting the drivetrain with 6500 rpm clutch dumps on slicks.

My stock drive shaft went pretty easy. My 10 bolt outlasted it. Once you tear one open you will see how cheap the stock DS's are.

hmm, I better get one just in case then. Will an aftermarket aluminum be sufficient for what Im running. I hear they are smoother, etc at higher speeds; or, should I make the jump to a steel driveshaft
