Default gto gears

does anyone know if the gears that are aftermarket for the vett with irs are the same and if they will work with the rearend in the goat.. gears for the goat are about 500 and the only ones worth looking into are the 3.91

I am pretty sure that the rear in the GTO is similar to the old 9 bolt rear from 3rd gen camaros. The Vette gears are different.

I know that. The rear was designed after the 9 bolt rear, it is not a GM design like the CTS/Corvette rear. The gears for the 9 bolt is supposed to be nearly the same with some dimensional differences. I am not saying that it is the same, just similar. Close enough that companies that make the 9 bolt gears may start to produce the GTO gears if similar forgings and tooling can be used.
