Default pros/cons of 12 bolt/9 inch. help me finalize my plans

ok i would like to know the pros and cons of each rear, ive been searching and the main one i find is 12 bolt whine after hard launch.

also who is the best maker to get it from? for example if you say 9 inch is the best bet, who would be the place to call for one?

my car will be hitting up around 480 rwhp when i call it quits on building the motor up. looking for 10's if i ever get me a set of slicks, but for now drag radials and im not planning on high launche. i plan to go with something like 3.89/3.90 gears depending on which rear i go with of course. i want to keep all my factory options like abs and traction conrtol.

one of the problems is i dont understand many of the options you can get. like the spline, which would be the one to go with and why? id like to understand. also with the different yokes and u joints, what are the advantages of those options?

then i was trying to think if i wanted to go spool/locker/posi. for what i think the locker would be the best bet, tough but wont lock the rear tires under turning, figure it would be more streetable, but then again its the most expensive option, so would a posi be good?

also with theses rears would i beable to use most of what i have on the car now? how would it mount up? will i have to modify things?

My 2c is
I had a Strange 12 bolt it lasted 1 year in my car 2 compleate rebuilds and still wined like a banchee. I run a M6 so a it is a lot harder on rears.
Scott K at Driveline Solutions great guy and his 9" setups are perfect. I am 100% pleased with his work.

As for spline count for bomb protection go max on the spline count it makes more sense to me to get what you need if i rembere right 31 spline axles will take up to 700hp. it is a weight /power ratio thing with this as for ABS /TCS if you go 12 bolt they can do it eather way both if you go 9" all the can do is 4 channel you will give up you 3 channel option. No great loss .

Strength order:

1 spool
2 locker
3 Track Loc
4 Posi

I have a Track Loc and love it real strong positive feeling

That is just a little info there is a lot more guys on here that know more than I and will be willing you guide you better.

Good Luck

I need the same answers, to the top. Price is an issue for me as well. Spool is not an option.

i REALLY hope so, I wasn't planning on having to buy a new rear-end. I broke it on the 1-2 shift (315 street radials, sumitumo's at that)
