HELP!!! installed 4.10s and now whine hey guys,, in need of some help here. thanx for any tips and info.stock 3.42s minimal whine in 5th and 6th gear. put 4.10s in and the whine is definitely there now,plus has a vibration at 50 mph and up. tightened the pinion nut a hair more. now the whine is very loud. got upset and decided to be done with it for the night, drove home about 4 miles and now its unbearably loud,,vibration,and seems to be coming from front of driveshaft/trans area. the car has a spohn torque arm,all the damn adjustment nuts were loose (just bought the car) any gear guys out there that can help me set this car up right?? thanx again,,mike

My 4.10's also whine, and they have about 200-250 miles on them, no noticeable vibrations though, only a bad bushing (my guess) on the torque arm or somewhere back there (everytime I shift it hard, something hits the body back there).

Were the gears used?
I put Motive 4.10's in mine and I haven't had much of a whine unless I'm at VERY minimal throttle...but even then it's hard to hear over the rest of my car. Put a mean cam in and you'll never worry about gear whine again
