Default 9in 3-channel ABS update (working)

A while ago I posted some pics of the 3-channel ABS setup I made for my 9in. I took the car out today and so far so good. No abs light and everything is working great.

Reluctor wheel is from a 95 F150 (108 teeth, 106 is stock). Had to machine the ring to fit the differential (7.3in to fit the detroit true trac).

Takes some time to do, but IMO it was worth it.

Looks awesome man... good job!

I wonder if it even matters what the tooth count actually is... I would think it would work no matter what tooth count as long as the teeth are spaced out the same as the stock teeth. When the rear sensor counts more teeth per RPM vs front wheel RPM, thats when ABS does its thing, right? Im starting to think that it might be easier to order a 4ch rear and run the stock sensor off one axle reluctor.

Just for ***** and giggles has anyone ever tried taking a stock 3ch sensor, splitting the harness, and using 2 stock 3ch sensors on a 4ch rear? Put one sensor on each axle reluctor?

When I order my 9" I may just order a 4ch rear just for the hell of it and try it out.

If you understand how the wheel speed sensor works it makes it a little more simple. It roughly does count the teeth. But it is a magnet wound w/copper wire= a perment magnet pulse generator. It produce a voltage by having it magnetic field broken by a reluctor (3) or tone ring (4 channel).
The tone rings are much smaller & have less teeth per revolution. The reluctors are obviously large & have many teeth.
The 3 channel system is 'looking' for this. More teeth per rev equals a little higher(slight) voltage output, but a higher frequency output per rev.
