carrier/gear question
I have a friend of mine that took the gears out of his s-10 pick-up. The gears are 3:73's. I wanted to know if these gears will fit my 3:23 equiped 7.5. As far as he knows the 3:73'S are stock. I measured the ring gear and it measures 7.5" to the outside if the teeth. I have read about there being different carriers for 3:08 and lower but just wanted to check with you guys b/f I take mine out.
BTW yes I know my gas mileage will go down but I really don't care. I have only driven 25 miles in the bird in two weeks, which is normal. My job gives me a truck to drive and they pay for the gas.

I highly doubt GM would change carriers between vehicles, therefor I woudl be inclined to think that if it came out of a 7.5" or 7.625" GM diff the gears should work fine.
Anyone else want to verify this since "I'm not an expert"
