Default 4.1 rear too much for procharged ls6?

Assume a stock ls6 powerplant + fuel. 4.1 rear, t56 tranny and am looking into a d1sc procharger 8lb pulley. I'm wondering if that's too much gear? How about a 3.9 rear?

If you have a stock limiter you will run out of gear in 1/4 mile if that is your concern. The amount of power you make, the peak RPM you want and what you want to do with the car determines how much gear you can get away with. I am trying to decide myself and am thinking a 3.89 would be a good choice.

the more power you make the longer the gear gets.so that 4.1 might not top out.

I would pose this question in the handling section... the road racers could tell you what to run. From a 1/4 mile perspective you need to look at how much power you have, how tall a tire you will run, and what your rpm limiter will be set at to chose.

8 lbs of boost and 4.11 gears are a great combination for the street, and would also be a good choice for many short road courses. You need to know what your top mph in 4th gear needs to be to make an educated guess. Bob
