Angry $135.00 Rubber seals...GM joke

This ticked me off, if anyone has a cheaper way let me know. Ok got my 12 bolt. Install went fine, life is good. When swapping the backing plates I notice the rubber boots over the emergency brake shaft is real beat on both sides. Hey just comes off with two screws....will call dealer and splurge for the 10 bucks right???? WRONG! Gotta buy the whole assembly for $135.00. Ok so I bitched a little at the parts guy cause sometimes they just don't want to dig any deeper, he called backed and said "not available seperate". I am going to cut up a piece of rubber to seal it better than it is, anyone have a part number, or a better idea?

Same thing happened to me. I bought a used 12 bolt with those seals torn, and missing the adjustment screw (also not available seperate). I had to buy another rear brake se up, and now can't really sell these with damaged seals.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, if it really bothers you seal it up with black silicone.

I was annoyed because one side had sticky E-brake due to water getting in I assumed, thought fix was just going to be cheap and easy for a change.....LOL.

GM is ridiculous when it comes to stuff like this now. I cracked the side mirror glass on my silverado with power mirrors and the glass just pops right off so I figured I would go and just get a new glass piece but you have to buy the whole mirror assembly to the tune of $195 bucks!!

Jrick212 if it is the driver side mirror you can go to any glass place and get the mirror cut for like $20.00
Passenger side is all "objects closer" and stuff most places can't do that
