i have a 99z and i have an auburn posi and not the zexel torsen. i thought that only the 98's had the auburn and 99-02 had the zexel. oh well it still works good i but i was disapointed when i say that cause i was putting new axle bearings in. could anyone tell me when the zexels went in? i want to up grade

are you into drag racing or road racing? the auburn is the better drag racer and the torsen is a better road racer.

why is that? i thought the zexel is better all around. it puts power to the wheel that has traction right? my auburn isnt as tight as new with 123k like if i have water on the right tire only and trun right hard and get on it only the right tire will spin for a little while. but doin burn offs and donuts i works great still so it will stay for a while i guess

The auburn is more forgiving. It is also queiter then the zexel unit. If you break a tooth with the zexel you are done. All those little spirol gears get out of timing and self destruct. Auburn and Eaton are way better in that if you should dead hook one tire will spin lessoning the strain on the rear.
