Default 3.73 Gas mileage loss

Could anyone tell me what my gas mileage would be on the highway if I installed 3.73 gears in my '01 SS? Say at 70 mph or around there on the highway? Thanks.

Probably just one or two mile per gallon loss, if that. I just had 3.73 installed, and there is only about a 1K rpm diff at that speed

Alright I read that and was like, 1000? That would be an awful lot more than 1 or 2 miles per gallon. Thanks for the info.

my car used to be at 67mph at 2000rpms with the stock 3.23s, now with the 4.10s 60mph is at 2300 and 80 mph is at 3000rpms. hopefully that helps. i don't have the 3.73's but it'll be better than what im getting.

I didn't have any noticeable difference going from 3.23 to 3.73. @ 80MPH RPMs went from 2.5K to 3K... Since you already have 3.42s the move to 3.73 isn't significant at all.

You have an M6... 3 of the above guys have autos (which im pretty sure don't have the whopping overdrive that the T56 has)... you could go 4.10's and probably wouldnt see much of a difference in economy.

I didn't notice any significant change in mileage going to 3.73's on my M6. Not a big enough step to really make a huge difference.
