3.73 Or 4.10?
I have a 99 LS1 Camaro A4. I'll be running a 231/237 .589/595 112 with PP 243 stage II heads with a 3500 stall. Which gears would be better for my setup 3.73's or 4.10's? Gas mileage is not an issue.

I love my 4.10's. Best mod I ever did for quickness. Like night and day from stock. Although I'm not smart enough to know how to calculate it, I've been told you should gear you car for the cam you choose. With your cam, I'd go big, 'cause you'll still be able to hit a quarter mile at the top of 4th in peak power, say 6000-6300, and that cam tops out around 6500.
You might want 3.73's if you drive a lot of miles, to save some on gas, but why would you have that big cam if that's the case. Also, I've seen some posts that say the 4.10's are not as stong as 3.73's because of the smaller pinion. ...just think of the 4.10's as being stronger than 4.33's, if that helps:-)

3.73's if you wanna drive it around alot, and not use up major gas. I would say 4.10's if its a race only car, or just a plain out grocery getter. I have seen on here people with great success running 4.10's at the track, and the stock rear holding up.

4.10s definetly. I had 3.73s at first then wanted to go all out so I switched to 4.10s. I have a TC above 4000 and I am AMAZED at what this car can do for a cam-only. I almost have the front wheels off the ground. Go with the 4.10s man!!

4.10's are great on the street. Nothing [like] leaving that 'stang looking at the back of your car getting smaller, fast..., like he's sitting still.
fasttagurl, you've got a nice set of bolt-ons to get the most out of a cam-only set up. Have you had it at the track or on a dyno? What heads are you looking at?

man ,that 4.10 and the 3500 stall is killing your 60ft !! if you don't want to change the gear ,change tire to a 28" slick ! IMHO ......I would change the gear to a 3.73 or even a 3.42 and I'm sure you will see a big improvement.
