Default Yet another 3.73 question

Sorry guys, but I have to know before spending the dough on my rearend. I dont make it to the drag strip like I should. But I do hit the highway quite frequently. I love my stock 3.42 gears. When they are shifting I am pulling strong through my long gears. My average punch is from 45. Where would the 3.73's start to hurt me, if at all? I look at it as the shorter the gear, the faster I will pull through it. After all I have never seen the end of 5th having buried the speedo past 155.

Normal rule of thumb: For gear upgrade, M6 4.10s, A4 3.73s. From your post I gather you have a 6 speed. Go with the 4.10 or leave it alone. 3.73s will not be enough of a gain for the money involved.
