Default wtf?! 3rd gear topped out @86 mph

went to the local 1/8th mile last night and my car was hitting the rev limiter (6500) as i crossed the traps. i was only trapping 85.xx, from what the gear calculator said i should be able to go to 93 mph. (car has 4.10's) whats going on here? its a 10 bolt so it couldnt have 4.30's in it which would make more sense.

I agree with you on the mph you should be going, but when you hit the rev limiter your car will slow down and that could explain your 86mhp. just my2cents

Youre still accelerating through the traps. It reads the average speed from when you pass the first sensor till when you pass the second sensor.

sounds like you dont have 4.10's. Mine shows 91 mph but my speedo is 2 mph even after being recalibrated, stock tires still.

See if you can find or a borrow a portable GPS navigator. They usually have a speedometer on it. When I had my 04 GTO with the digital speedometer it was always within 1 mph to the Navigator. Then you'll know for sure if your gears and calibration are in sync.

its a manual. when i bought the car the previous owner had installed the 4.10's and never calibrated it. so i picked up a hypercrap local to calibrate for the 4.10's. other than that its on a stock size tire. im confused.

I have 4.10s with a lightly bolted on car. I pass the traps around 87mph, making sweet sweet love to the rev limiter in 3rd gear.
