Have you thought it might be the locking and unlocking of the differential? I'm not a diff expert, but I was thinking the Tru Trac is a "quieter" Detroit Locker, so you still may hear it lock, unlock.

I had this same noise turned out to be my LCA bolts where loose and the LCA was hitting the side of the mount on the rearend.

Me too. Except the lca bolts weren't exactly loose. They where rather tight but not tight enough for the sides of the bracket to squeeze the bushing.

I am having this same problem at the moment and its driving me crazy. Everything is perfect driving straight, but any hard turns and I hear and thump/pop sound.
I will go and look at my LCA's.

Tru Tracs ******* suck, I have 2, and after one wheel hop at the track during the burnout no less, it becomes heir apparent. This diff drives me nuts. Not quite want to drive on a spool but I think a Eaton HD posi for the Moser 12 bolt will go in next.

Like said, when new, the diff felt like it was not even there. I loved it, but as soon as any abuse happens, its fucked. Its non rebuild-able.

Also your unit is a Eaton spec Trutrac. I actually had an original, build dat was back in 2005.
