Default Looking for some more info before I buy a 9"

ok well i think im ready to buy a rear end. where i am getting it from they ship me the housing and axles and build the 3rd member. i have to assemble it. he said i have to get the abs rings and backing plates pressed on and i wanted to know what needed to be done to assemble it and take some parts off mine please let me know. i will post up with the information once he emails me back.

is there anything else i need to watch out for or purchase? i have an adjustable spohn torque arm that will work wth the 9". do i need anything for the brakes to get them to fit on there? its a moser housing that i will be using.

You will need a NAPA 447 U-joint and the U-clamps to hold it to the new rear. Possibly end links for the rear sway bar cause they break quite often. Buy (2) 3" U style exhaust clamps to mount the sway bar to the rear because the axle tubes on the 9" are a little bigger than the 10 bolts. And while your in there it would be a good time to buy some 5/8" heater hose and eliminate the isolators on the stock coils. If I think of anything else I'll let ya know.

thanks, isolators are out of there right now. he said i get a new u joint with it, but i will be sure to ask him about that. as for the brackets for the rear sway bar, do I only need the 3" exhaust clamp? I actually have some around the house I can use. Will the piece that holds the bushing work that is on the car now?

also, why do the endlinks break? i have new ones on there when i upgraded the rear bar.

Someone else just did one of these and posted a pretty detailed summary a few weeks ago. You might check that thread too.
