Question rear end girdle?

i was just wondering if any one is running a stock 10 bolt with the reinforcement girdle with the counter screws that push on the pinion bearings to stabilize everything. if so how good are they. and have you blown up a rear end since installing it

I've got one on my 'bird. It's been on the car for almost a year now, and I haven't had any issues on the street or the strip.

I had one, 10bolt lasted 2 launches on good tires. If you are trying to go fast with a six speed it's only time until the 10bolt laughs at you.

Had one for about 3 years....converted my truck to a LS1....the truck came stock with a 8.5" ring pinion. Lasted 6,000 miles when my Powertraxx locking differential decided to bite off a few teeth and attempt to send one through the cover.......cracked it through and through.

they will definitely help on deflection but the ring gear is still junk,i'd just save for a 12 bolt or 9 inch.

I havn't had any problems with mine either. I'm inclined to think that they do help. And when you dump the 10 bolt you can usually resell the girdle and stud kit for a half decent price.

i think the girdle would only help with an automatic. stick cars apply way too much shock upon launch to harbor any hopes of a 10 bolt surviving for an extended period of time.
