I dont know what year your car is but here are the RPO production codes for the LS1 located on the driver side door:

GU2 - Axle Ratio 2.73, Rear
GU4 - Axle Ratio 3.08, Rear
GU5 - Axle Ratio 3.23, Rear
GU6 - Axle Ratio 3.42, Rear

Uhh... LS1 F-bodys only came with the 3.23, 2.73 (automatic) or 3.42 (manual), they never came with a 3.08

And for some reason I thought the code for 2.73's was GU3, but I could be wrong about that one.

jack it up in back so that both rears are off the ground. Put it in neutral. Put a mark on the driveshaft and rotate the tires one full spin (exactly) while counting how many rotations your driveshaft makes. If the shaft spins 3.42 times to the tires once, there ya go! 3.42s

Orrr... you could just read the door sticker.

But if you don't have the door sticker, or you think the rear was swaped, that meathod would work.

and that is why I said "RPO production codes for the LS1" and not "RPO production codes for the LS1 F-body"

if he doesnt have a posi you will have to reverse the process, counting the driveshaft and watching when the tire turns one time
