Default Tranny fluid leaking from some place...experts step inside...

I had the car out yesterday and it was running great, I get home and I see a 6" by 5" puddle of trans fluid lying on the garage floor, the car has sat before this for about a week straight, is there any reason why all of a sudden it would start to leak, I jacked the car up and at first I thought that it was coming from where the end of the trans is where the driveshaft goes in, but I parked the car in the same spot and it looks to be coming from right where the converter connects to the tranny...by the way I have a TH400 with a "J" stator 10" 4500 stall....I haven't been hard on the trans at all yet, haven't tested out the brake or beaten it really...its all still new to me...

Any ideas on why it would do this already....other people have used this converter and haven't had any problems....

Thanks,
Bos

Brian,

When Tom put the tranny in did they make sure to space the converter properly from the flexplate. Sounds like you might have killed the front pump in the tranny if it's leaking from out of there. Only other think I can think of is to check around the lines going to/from the tranny cooler. Hope you find it dude.

Brian, I am sure it is coming from the LOKAR flexible dipstick, where it sits in the trans. They tend to move around alot due to the fact they are not bolted to the head like the stock hard tube.
