Default Richmond sportsman noise

question? If lets say pinion depth is .004 (.034 shim)to much, but back lash is ok at .008. Will there be a huge gear noise, these are sportsman 3:42's. Pattern shows the pinion is to far in the mesh on the coast side but its not to horrible and I did correct this by a change to a .030 shim (I will post pics), but my question is, will that much pinion depth cause irregular gear noise even if back lash is right? and can a harder compound gear set cause an osolation from thier mesh? (if that makes sence)

I'm waiting to see your pics so I can give you the right information. What part number did you purchase?
