How are they too long? You are the 1st person I heard that one from. Yes you can cut them, I recommend putting a lug nut on before cutting, cut it to the desired length, clean the threads with a small file/dremel wheel, then back the nut off.

They Are Too Long Because I Went From Drag Rims To A Hre Wheel Where The Tip Of The Stud Actually Hangs Out A Little Bit.plus I Want A Closed End Lug Nut So I Would Have To Cut Them To Do This.

I'm in the same boat as you....the wheel studs on the 9" I got are also 1/2x20 x3" long. They are long and stick out further than I'd like. I measured the knurl length and diameter to see if I could find a stock size to replace them with and due to the knurl diameter there are no metric wheel studs that have that large knurl. So I think I'm just going to cut off .5-.75" of each stud and I'll be good to go.
Long story short you need to look at the knurl length and knurl diameter...if the axles are drilled for a larger knurl, then the stock size studs will be loose in the axle holes.
