Default C-clip problems

Anyone have problems removing c-clips? I thought that these were just supposed to slip out? Seems like I can't get the axles to go in enough, even with prying. Anyone have any tips?

if you have traction control (4CH rear) then you must remove the abs sensor on the back of the backing plates it a single bolt.

Then they should practically fall out when you push the axles in.
