Need gear info!

Need gear info! Ok so I'm getting up there in mods right now, I may have a fresh motor coming to me and I am putting a cam in there, and hopefully getting the heads ported just to getsome more flow. Now I have stock gears right now and I want to go to 3.73's cuz 4.10's would be horrible (lots of highway driving)
Now can I just buy a 3.73 gears and just install it with my stock driveshaft and what not.
I guess what I'm asking is what all goes into swapping out the gears and such. Hahah. I'm a loser.
