Default A clicking sound from underneath my car?

I've recently found that whenever i shift out of park, (I have an automatic), that it always seems to make a kind of a "ping" noise. It also happens very frequently when i gear down. I use nothing lower than 93 octane in my 1999 Z28, but that doesn't really seem to make much difference. I even put in octane booster making it about 100 Octane. Do I need to change my transmission fluid? I have 25,088 miles, with recently changed oil at 24,980. What if anything is wrong? Could it be my transmission?? Engine detonation?? Is this normal? Please help, Thanx

It's wierd, cause once in a while it doesn't even make a noise(some days are louder than others). I've done this and had temporary success- i start my engine, keep my foot on the brake, and gradually go from park to reverse, to neutral, to drive, then 3rd, 2nd, 1st, than back up again. Then when i take my foot off the brake i wait a second, and I place it back on and go into reverse without any noise. Could it be engine detonation?

I have this same thing happen to me in my 2K SS A4. I am not real sure about what it is but I have heard other F-bodies do it too. I dont think it is the motor I think it is the transmission. I am not worried about cause I predict it is just the car going into gear. But let me know if you find out it is dangerous...!!! But I dont think it is

Thanks Mike, I thought it was just the tranni too, but its sometimes loud. I don't know many others with F-Body's so it's get to know that it's a universal observation. Oh yea by the way, Nice lookin' ride!
