Strange only makes up the driveshafts on Wednesdays, so you'd probably get the rear before the driveshaft.

I already got the differential.

I'm waiting on the driveshaft so I can get my car rolling again.

I bought mine through SJM. Steve handled all of it for me and I must say he did an awesome job keeping me informed of everything that was going on.

He would also respond to emails and phone calls, imagine that!!

And yes, I bought a custom length driveshaft. Took about 2 weeks to get that.

It can work. But after talking with Steve we felt the best route to take was to bolt up the 12 bolt, load it up and take a measurement.

There are production tolerances and also possible differences in geometry from the differential itself that can throw things off.

After I gave Steve my measurements he said they weren't out of the typical range but definitely not what he expected.

There is a right way to do things and a wrong way. The right way sometimes takes longer or is harder but in the end the results are well worth it.

It took a long time to get the differential and a little longer for the driveshaft but I'm very happy with the end result. The diff. went in with no problems and it was truly a bolt in deal.

It does whine like a banshee but it reminds of a comment my friend told me while working in gear manufacturing " you can make them quiet, loud, efficient or inefficient it all depends on what you want and what you're trying to do". It's a differential thats built to take some abuse, along with that comes some compromises. Although I think the teeth are loud thats the price you pay for something that is built to take abuse.

Ordered complete with new backing plates on April 5th....

Received on May 18th (a couple weeks later than expected, but no big deal)

It was shipped on its side, so most of the fluid leaked out of the vent onto the brand new E-brake shoes, so I cleaned her up, prepped and painted her the same day....

May 25th, did a final check before installing and found that they built it with the wrong gears (3.73's instead of the 4.11's I had ordered from LS1Speed)

June 1st, it was picked up and sent back to Strange to be rebuilt with the correct gears....

Still have yet to hear anything from them

Damn thats all you hear about peoples shipping, taking 1-2 months to get there order. and there is usually a problem. why all the delay, get the **** out the door, we have to pay upfront, so get us our **** just as fast.

Edit: not just for rearends, but i see stall's, exhaust that is already in stock, and just about anything else. thats why i make sure to ask how long before i order.

I have a Strange 9" third member. The first one whined so loud it was truly dangerous to drive the car, I changed the fluid twice both times it was loaded with filings.
After threatening to take them to the Consumer Products Safety Commission they rebuilt the unit, only to have it freeze up because the bearings were torqued wrong.
I had, at my own expense, the unit rebuilt again locally.
I would not EVER purchase a Strange product again. They are total ******** to deal with, MF ******** at that. I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy the grief and aggravation they caused me.
