Default zexel torsen 4 series gear adaptor

Hey i was wondering if anyone knew If the zexel torsen gear adaptors were needed to install 4:10s on my 99 ta. I have called summit racing and priced the richmond gears and asked if they knew if they were needed and the salesman said that he didnt see anything saying they were. I have the stock rear end and the m6 tranny thanks

Rears that come with 4.30 and up or something like that?

My 12 bolt came with 3.90s and I wanted 4.30s, I was told if I wanted those gears I needed a spacer type of thing because I had a 3 series carrier and 4.30s are a 4 series.

I think blackbird is talking about the paddle kit, though. If he is talking about a spacer then no he doesn't need one because his 3.42 rear is already a 3 series. About the paddle kit I have no idea. I have seen 4.10s that need it and some that don't but I don't proclaim to know the rhyme or reason to which do and don't need it.

Hey yea i talked to a guy yesterday. Someone finally knew what i was talking about and he told me that the paddle kit offered by slp was just for there slp gears. Soposedly the slp gears are a little thicker then say richmond gears, so they needed a thinner paddle or something to make the gears fit right in the rear end.
