Have 3.90's, considering 4.10's.
Anybody have one of those drag race programs that let you change gearing parameters and other things like that? Or from personal experience or knowledge I'm just curious as to what, if any, benefit I'd get from going with 4.10's vs the 3.90's I currently have. I went with 3.90's because of the 408 as I want to be turning 6700-6800 @ 133 MPH. I'm just wondering if they're slowing me down significantly now on my SI motor. I want to make it up as far as possible on the SI list before putting in the 408 so even a tenth will be very significant to me. Raceweight is now around 3400 pounds and the motor puts out 328.9 to the tires. I'm trying to get the raceweight under 3100 for a real shot at one of the top few positions on that list. I'm just curious if the 4.10's are a waste of my money and effort in this goal. Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

if your sig is true lower gears aren't going to help you will just hit the rev limiter sooner.
I hit the rev limiter on that pass because my tranny was about to take a dump and wouldn't make the 2-3 shift. That problem has now been solved. Thanks though.

Thanks for the link to the speed calculator. Unfortunately, I already have one of those. There used to be a program out there (Quarter or Quarter Jr.) that would let you input different variables into it and spit out an approximate time and MPH given those variables. I'm just wondering what one of those programs would predict going from 3.90's to 4.10's or if anyone here has tried this on a SI combo like I have now. I know changing to a lightweight Strange spool will make a difference. I plan to do that. I'm just wondering if changing the gears while I'm in there is worthwhile. Thanks again for any input on this.
