When I had a 10 bolt I had the Summit cover and it fit/looked great and seemed to do something because I didn't break the rear...I mainly bought it for the drain plug...

???

Round flat side in.

Read the instructions for the torque specs. It will all be included.

Good luck.

Are you refering to the two bearing stud load bolts that go thru the cover? One end has an allen head and the other has a flat plate that pivots a little. That flat plate contacts the bearing bolt heads and helps keep them from pushing outwards under load. The instructions from mine was to torque to 10 ft/lbs, 25 ft/lbs for the cover bolts...Some covers recommend 5 ft/lbs...Follow whatever instructions you have...

...you also should run a little rtv on the threads of the two bolts just on the thread area that goes thru the cover to prevent leaks...

So the flat end parts are inside the cover up against the bering bolt heads with the bolt sticking out of the diff cover with the nuts on the inside or outside?Sorry I got no instructions with mine.

Those nuts go on the outside of the cover and hold the allen headed bolts in place. Once you torque the bolts (they should be allen head) to 10 ft/lbs, you snug up the nuts to the cover to hold the torque setting while holding the allen head bolts to keep them from turning. I can try to find my old instructions and try to scan and email them to you, but its pretty simple once you get the idea of how it works...
