Default 2-series 4.10 gear question

I'm shopping everywhere for 4.10 gears for a 2-series carrier. Most of the sponsors list whether or not it is 2 or 3 series, however, others simply state "7.5in" or "7.625in". Is one of these a 2 series carrier? If so, which one?

Also, are the SLP and AAM gears the same? I see the names interchanged sometimes on the forums and on the sponsors site's they say both are the GM Factory Gearing.

Lastly, if I am having a shop install the gears for me, will I need the Master Install Kit as well or do I just need the gears? Thanks

7.5" is what you need for our 10 bolts.

I believe AAM makes things for SLP to sell.

Technically they started calling it a 7.625 back around '89 when they went from 26 to 28 spline axles. Most factory gear sets are marked with 7.625 or 7 5/8 yet you cannot tell the difference between these and the 7.5's otherwise.

So.. you can interchange 7.5's with 7.625's, it has nothing to do with carrier series.
For carriers you only need to worry about series and axle spline count. you can put a 1982 or older 7.5 gear on a 2002 carrier, etc.
