Default fab. 9" housing finished..*PICS*

well i finally finished my fab 9 housing and axle tubes today...its going to be a while before I cut the tubes to length and actually get the 3rd member and axles, but the housing is finished! I am including pics of some of my welds before and after i painted it. The housing is all tig welded and the tubes are mig welded on. Let me know what you guys think....

How thick is the metal you used? Those tubes look awfully small in diameter compared to my moser 9" but maybe it's just the center is larger. Looks great so far but your real task is gonna be the brackets & torque arm. Keep us posted.

the tubes are 3" .250 wall DOM tubing, the face plate is 1/4 inch and the rest is 1/8", trust me its pretty beefy

Looks ok...you should of made a near continous(sp) weld on the tubes to centersection... instead of a start and stop method... also make sure you axel centerline is on target after you weld all you brackets on the tubes, those things will move quite a bit.. If your centerline is out you can quench the housing using a tourch and ice water...also a vent tube I like atleast a -6 and a drain and fill

yes i have all the axle narrowing fixtures and its getting a back brace, drain plug, Big fill plug and a vent tube before its done. the tube to center section is a continuious bead underneath the stitch weld, i metal finished it and went back over it because I personally like the look of a stitch. Trust me, keeping axle centerline was my main concern during this entire build
