Default Today 3.73s put in and strange noise?

Today I got my car back from having 3.73s fitted and now the car really feels great but from about 60mph and above(not lower speeds) if I take my foot off the gas I can now hear a slight whine or whistle if you like kind a like bus does but not as loud is this normal? If not what could be wrong.

it's gear whine. no gears are as quiet as OEM GM gears. did you buy richmond's? they're known to be a little noisy. if they howl terribly i'd have them checked as they haven't been spaced correctly. if you have to actually listen to detect it, i wouldn't worry about it, they just need to break in.

IT IS ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE THAT YOU BABY THE CAR FOR 500 MILES! the gears need to be broken in property and GENTLY. if you beat the car, the gears will not set up right. they will howl and wear your rear badly!

wait 500 miles and see if the noise subsides. some gear whine is expected, even with OEM gears if you listen hard enough. PLEASE be GENTLE on the car for this 500 mile period. NO WOT RUNS! shoot, i wouldn't even go half throttle.

thought they would be richmond's

they'll be a bit louder than OEM but as long as you break them in nice they'll be fine. just don't expect them to be quiet as stock. nothing seems to be as quiet as GM OEM's.

I have 4.10 gears in my T/A, and they whine pretty bad at anything other than a slow roll. Not sure of the brand, as they were installed before I bought the car.

I'm going to be changin the rear fluid with Mobil 1 75W-90, I'll see if that helps any.
